Orin Swift Cellars Wine Dinner

Café Chameleon will hold a very special wine-paired dinner featuring the famed Napa Valley winery Orin Swift Cellars on November 20 as Chef Bryan Gregg creates a very special four-course dinner to pair with these award-winning California wines.

When: Wednesday November 20, 2019 at 6:30pm for canapés and 7pm for dinner. 

First Course

2017 Blank Stare, Sauvignon Blanc

Arctic char, roe, smoked crema, yams

Second Course

2017 Mannequin, Chardonnay

Sea scallops, celeriac, truffle butter

Third Course

2018 8 Years in the Desert, Zinfandel Blend

60-day dry-aged beef roast, marrow, pommes Anna

Fourth Course

2016 Palermo, Cabernet Sauvignon

Valley Shepherd Creamery Tartufo and stewed figs

Cost: $109 per person plus taxes and gratuity, includes wines.

About Orin Swift

The history of Orin Swift Cellars dates back to 1995 when on a lark, David Swift Phinney took a friend up on an offer and went to Florence, Italy to spend a semester “studying”. During that time, he was introduced to wine, how it was made, and got hooked. A few more years of university led to graduation and eventually a job at Robert Mondavi Winery in 1997 as a temporary harvest worker. Deciding that if he was going to work this hard, it would eventually have to be for himself, so in 1998 he founded Orin Swift Cellars; Orin is his father’s middle name and Swift is his mother’s maiden name. With two tons of zinfandel and not much else, he spent the next decade making wine for others as well as himself and grew the brand to what it is today.

Thanksgiving at Café Chameleon

Café Chameleon will host a Thanksgiving meal on November 28 as Chef Bryan Gregg creates a very special three-course menu, with the option of wine pairing.

When: Thursday November 28, 2019 with seating from 3pm until 7pm.

First Course (Select One)
Roasted pumpkin soup, brown butter and sage dumplings
Whipped heirloom grits, hen egg and charred onion powder
Confit of turkey thigh, parsnips and truffle
Smoked trout, beet root, roe and cress
Crab cake and sauce Louie

Second Course (Select One)
Roasted turkey and traditional garnishes
Dry aged sirloin, greens and Yukon gold potatoes
Halibut, celery root and lobster butter
Roasted duck, Brussels, smoked pear and peppercorn

Third Course (Select One)
Pecan and sweet potato tart
Chocolate boudino

Ring in the New Year at Café Chameleon

Café Chameleon will host two dinner services on New Year’s Eve to help you ring in 2020 in delicious style.

The early service will be at 6pm and include a very special three-course menu with a sparkling wine toast for $59 per person plus taxes and gratuity. Optional wine pairings will be available.

The late service will be at 8:30pm and include a chef’s tasting five-course menu with a sparkling wine toast for $89 per person plus taxes and gratuity. Optional wine pairings will be available.
